Domino's Delivers Location

Domino's Delivers Location

Order Domino's anywhere now by using your mobile phone.

How it Works

  • From a web-enabled cell phone visit mobile.dominos.com
  • Enter your favorite pizza and delivery address
  • If you are paying by credit card, enter your credit card information over Domino's secured network
  • In about 30 minutes ... Get the door. It's Domino's.

Like Seisan, Domino's understands the value-add received from location based services. People are always moving from one place to another and the Domino's mobile pizza ordering system is an example of a Location Based Pull Service that delivers information directly requested from the user.

Domino's also realizes the obvious that customers order a pizza when they are hungry. So to ease there stress or help them "avoid the Noid" they allow customers to follow the progress of their order online from the time they Place Order, Pizza In Oven, and the Domino's delivery is knocking on their door.

"Customers using Pizza Tracker will no longer have to wonder where their pizza is in the ordering process -- it takes the 'mystery' out of waiting for their pizza. Not only that, it's entertaining, too," McGlothlin said.

Track your order in real time with the Domino's Pizza Tracker.

Redundancy

I don't want to be a spoil sport, but I read this post and couldn't help but think, "Wouldn't it just be easier to call? You're on the phone already!" Now, to be fair, I went to the site to see if there might be some overall justification. The first obvious flaw I see is that you've got to be registered on the normal Dominos.com website before you can order. At this point, the only thing I see that might justify this level of complexity is the pizza tracker, which does sound pretty cool.

Now, I do sometimes order pizza on Dominos.com, because I like the accuracy and I think it's got some cool features, but a mobile-web based site seems like overkill.

Advantage is two-fold

I agree about the registration its a hassle but Domino's hit a home run here. Its a win for the company to forge closer relationships with there clients.

As for the Domino's client: me, soccer moms, event organizers, or the sports fan at home watching the game on the weekend, they win also because the system is smart and will continue to improve. For example a babysitter might organize her pizza orders by families who hire her services. Saving the pizza orders on her mobile phone will help re-ordering the kids favorite pizza meals.

Domino's also set up a text-alert program that includes any coupons associated with the order so thats a Win. In addition to this text message service they have included a opt out of Domino's text messaging program, users send the word STOP to DOMINO (366466) at any time.

Ahh the power of discussion - it digs the real story out every time. Thanks for the comment.
