Cool Tech from Location Intelligence

Posted by charles.durham on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 21:12

This is my first in a series of posts I will be putting on about some of the new technology that sparked my interest out here at Location Intelligence. One of the most exciting is Blue Dasher Technologies 360 degree street view solution. We had them at our booth showing off the demo and we ended up having a nice size crowd form around. We know Google has street view technology, but what we saw from Blue Dasher was a major step up in quality and features. You get a smooth animation down the street like you where driving in a car and a full 360 degree view so you can pan/tilt the view around any angle. The ad features provide virtual billboards which can display images and full motion video. The viewer dash board is skinnable and they also showed us a few different views including a simulated Land Rover style dash.

I'll be updating this blog post with a bit more information, but for now if your at the show get in touch with Mike - michael@bluedashertech.com and check out www.bluedashertech.com - you really need to see this!

RIA with mapping

Internet applications are evolving to RIA (Rich Internet Applications) along with what users and our customers are expecting. I started working with Flex 1.5 to help one of Seisan's customers replace their very cumbersome back-end order entry system. Since that time, I have come to adopt the Adobe Flex technology and in a very short period of time have been able to develop some very easy to use interactive interfaces. Flex allows me to avoid the "browser compatibility" issue and leave it to Adobe.
